Agragati, a registered non-profit society since 1979 (Registration No: S/26356 dated 19-10-1979), has been dedicated to rural development, awareness and income generation, women empowerment, and education in the Amta-I, Amta-II, and Udaynarayanpur blocks of Howrah district.

Our educational journey began with the New Dawn KG Primary School in 1988, followed by the Agragati Primary Teacher Training Institute (APTTI) in 2004, and the Ramkrishna Mandal Institute of Education (a B.Ed and D.El.Ed college) in 2014. In 2017, we established the Agragati Yoga Naturopathy Institute.

In June 2021, responding to the urgent need for healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, our Governing Body decided to establish a Nursing College at Rashpur. The committee unanimously approved the introduction of B.Sc and GNM nursing courses starting from the 2022-23 academic session. The proposed college was named 'Agragati Institute of Health Sciences Nursing Education Unit' (AIHS-NEU).

The foundation stone for AIHS-NEU was laid on 14-08-2021 at Rashpur, Amta, Howrah by Janab Javed Ahmed Khan, Hon'ble MIC Disaster Management & Civil Defence, Dr. Nirmal Majhi, MLA, Shri Samir Kumar Panja, MLA, Shri Sukanta Pal, MLA, and the popular singer and social activist Shri Nachiketa Chakraborty.

AIHS-NEU features around 3,592 sq.m of state-of-the-art academic buildings and a separate hostel building with modern amenities, all constructed following the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council (INC). From the 2022-23 academic session, AIHS-NEU proudly offers GNM and B.Sc (Nursing) programs with 60 seats each, adhering to all INC norms and guidelines.

In line with INC requirements, we have partnered with Mahabir Nursing Home, a 100-bed multi-specialty hospital located just 4 km from our campus, providing all necessary facilities like pathological and radiological tests including X-ray and CT scan. Additional training facilities are provided by Amta Rural Hospital, Hazi S.T. Mullick Rural Hospital, Chandapur Manikpur Rural Hospital, Howrah for Clinical Practice, Institute of Psychiatry, COE, Kolkata for Mental Health, and B.B. Dhar Rural Hospital & Bagnan Rural Hospital for community health nursing practice.

We are committed to providing guaranteed placement support for every student. Our principal, Prof. Pamela Gopalakrishnan, especially assists students interested in pursuing nursing careers abroad. Free spoken English classes are offered throughout the academic session to enhance students' communication skills.

Our hostel within the college campus is equipped with all necessary facilities and security measures. Our dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, along with the management team, maintain a supportive and friendly atmosphere, enabling students to focus on their studies.
